USF Retrieval 6v6 Elimination Comp -- Posted by Elmo on Tuesday, June 8 2004
After some quick practice to work out the retrieval gametype *AUS* were "ready" for their first match of the USF comp versus old mates Drunkards in Combat (DiC). The map was Stalingrad.
Not knowing what to expect from a retrival scrim at the start of first round tensions were running high. *AUS* set up their defence as Germans and waited for the expected Russian DiC assault. And then it was on! DiC taking the first 3 rounds with some great rushes.
*AUS* tweaked their defence and knuckled down to defend hard and only allowing DiC to take 1 more round in the first half.
Special mention goes to Piedude and Smooth.357 for their unrelenting defence of the Truck in the face of a hail of bullets and nades. Neither *AUS* member allowing the Russians get anywhere near the Truck.
*AUS* won the first half 6-4.
Now it was *AUS* turn to attack. Some great rushing by BiZzar3 and support by fellow team member left the DiC defence in ruins.
*AUS* taking out the match 15-5.
