*AUS* v SASR -- Posted by Elmo on Thursday, April 22 2004
Starting as offense, we had some good strats as we played m8 the night before, trying to iron out any bugs or cracks in our defense and offense. Well, we weren't confident after an arse whooping.
Starting off as Germans, we started off well, winning I think the first couple, but by the end of the 10 rounds, *AUS* only had a slim lead of 6 - 4.
After a small break between halfs, *AUS* took on the challenge of Offense. With some good sniping from both Hawkeye and Bizzare for *AUS* and Reddog, Tango94 and Vivid, the scores were brought to 9 all at the 18th round. Well, tension was high for both teams, and Elmo gave a quiet confidence boosting talk to his team. It went something like, - "What the f#$% are we doing, why the F#$%ing hell did you do that FFS". Well, it obviously worked with *AUS* taking the last 2 rounds. Top scorers was Elmo =) with 23 scalps and Harpy with 22 kills.
Was a fantasic game. Thanks to the SASR boys and m8 for some good scrims in the lead up.
This was our last match for the GA Ladder, finishing on a high with a 3 win streak and position 17th in the GA Ladder.

Call of Duty gets Punked -- Posted by Elmo on Wednesday, April 21 2004
Today is a day that many have waited for, patch 1.4 has been released for COD, and more importantly, the patch includes the long overdue PunkBuster. Although, too late for the majority of GA season 1, it has arrived just in time for the finals.
The *AUS* server will be updated during the day with the new patch, and PB will be enabled.
GG IW.

*AUS* vs |-DIC-| -- Posted by Elmo on Friday, April 9 2004
Our next match for the GA Ladder was highly anticipated, with good scrim partners, Drunkards in Combat, (|-DIC-|).With the match on Pavlov, and |-DIC-|'s LAN on that weekend, what a match we were in for. *AUS* starting off as Allied, got off to a good start, with a surprising rush, and Elmo managing to take out 5 of the 6 DIC's. After several rushes and a few close saves, *AUS* found themselves up 8 - 2. Needing only 3 rounds to wrap up the win, *AUS* thought we had an easy win from the |-DIC-| clan. Elmo*AUS* was top scorer with 26 kill count, Darvidson next up with 8. For |-DIC-|, Duj took 13 *AUS* scalps and the sniping of Muscat taking 10 kills.
Were we wrong! In what proved to be an almost infallible defense, *AUS* managed to take one of the early rounds to take it to 10, and 1 round away from victory. But no matter what *AUS* did, they couldn't break the tight defensive strats that |-DIC-| had formulated. Finally, after |-DIC-| had drawn the scores to 10 - 8 in *AUS*'s
favour, only then did *AUS* manage to secure that final round, for Victory. At full time, scores where 12 - 8 in *AUS*'s favour, Top scoring for the match was Elmo with 39 Kills, and Mickuzsa with 14. For |-DIC-| Duj and Muscat leads the way, with 30 and 19 kills respectively.
Big thanks to |-DIC-| and Iced_Frog (REF) for the Game.

Custom Server -- Posted by Elmo on Saturday, April 3 2004
After much consideration from the senior members of *AUS* COD, we have decided to remove the Custom maps from rotation. Basically, it never received attention from the community, and therefore became a waste of resources.
But, now that *AUS* has extra resources, we are able to book out our other server for scrims and trainings (when *AUS* isn't using it, of course ). If needed, please contact myself, either through the forums, or on ICQ to arrange.
Cheers
